Eliza Frye is a classically trained character animation artist living and working in Hollywood, California. Born in the Colorado monutain gold mining community callled Silverton, she grew up traversing the globe with her artist parents. Eliza speaks English, Japanese and French.
Recently she released “Magic Everywhere” stories about finding myths and dreams in unlikely places. It is a 4″ x 5″ book with 8 pages, black and white interior and two color hand printed cover. Appropriate (and recommended) for all ages.

Ketika semua hal tidak lagi bisa menjadi baru, atau yang ‘baru’ kemudian menjadi ‘basi’, mungkin sekarang adalah saatnya, bahwa kata-kata seperti ‘retro’, ‘vintage’, atau ‘jadul’ menjadi suatu yang ’seksi’. Apakah itu karena kebosanan kita akan segala hal yang kekinian, atau dipaksakan menjadi kini, sehingga akhirnya semua orang pun menjadi pemulung semua yang berbau masa lalu, yang selalu tinggal dalam memori, dan dengan waktu pada akhirnya menjadi berarti?
Aprilia Apsari, atau biasa dipanggil Sari, seniman muda lulusan Desain Grafis IKJ ini selain melukis dan menggambar serta aktif berpameran, juga dikenal sebagai vokalis White Shoes & The Couples Company mungkin tidak berniat berpretensi menjawab itu, karena ia pun pada akhirnya juga sering mempertanyakan mewabahnya ikon-ikon ‘retro’ dan ‘vintage’ sebagai kampanye tren atribut identitas baru. Seperti layaknya seorang pemulung, ia hanya bermaksud mengumpulkan gagasan-gagasan dan citraan-citraan visual (dan juga suara) yang lekat dengan pembentukan dirinya sebagai seniman, baik Sari sebagai perupa mau pun musisi, yang kemudian ia olah lagi menjadi sesuatu yang tersendiri. Mungkin tidak baru, tapi juga tidak pernah basi.
Yang pasti, ini milik Sari, mungkin juga milik banyak orang lain yang satu generasi. Dan membuka ruang untuk kita saling berbagi arti dari memori kolektif kita akan hal-hal yang pernah hidup, mati, dan lalu hidup lagi.
